Youth Choir Administrator
Emily James

Emily grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and became passionate about music at an early age. After obtaining a music degree in flute performance from Ithaca College, NY, she began working as an arts administrator at nonprofits including Americans for the Arts, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and community choir Voices of Washington. Emily moved to Walla Walla in 2011 as an AmeriCorps service member, learning more about community organizing and nonprofit leadership. She now teaches flute and piano lessons from her home in Walla Walla, works as stage manager for the Walla Walla Symphony and plays flute with the Walla Walla Valley Bands whenever she can. She is studying to become a Registered Piano Technician under her mentor David Tarnowski, RPT. Emily is passionate about fostering the positive impact that music and arts can have on a community. She believes that the Mid-Columbia Mastersingers and the newly expanded Mastersingers Youth will uplift and encourage young people in the Tri-Cities, who will create a better future and a happier world for everyone.
